On Wednesday morning we got up at 4.15am and got a taxi to the airport ready for our 6.15am flight. We slept most of the way and soon landed in Sydney. We had to wait for our checked in bag (it had the tent in) and then got the train into the city and then changed to another train to the station near the campsite (North Ryde). Damelza almost fainted on the first train as she was carrying the backpack and we think it was slowly choking her out. She got very hot and was sweating badly but lucky we could get off the train and she was fine. We adjusted the backpack so Dan could carry it to the campsite. We checked in and the campsite wasn't happy that there were more people for the travllers point group we had booked with. We were in a different part of the campsite to before but it was still nice. We set up the tent and then had a sleep but it was very hot and was like being in a sweat box!
Dan's friend from England Snap On John (he is over here for a month) text us to invite us to a BBQ. We rang him and he said he'd let us know when he'd be over to pick us up. We got ready and waited and waited and waited. John's friend Mick had a few jobs to do in the morning and they took longer than he thought so while we waited Damelza and I tried to have a swim to cool down but the water was way to cold to get in fully. We chilled out and at 5ish we got the call to say they were here. Dan and John nearly pulled each other over the fence trying to hug each other. It was so funny to watch but nice that they could see each other.
We all squeezed into Micks small car and went to the bottle shop before Mick's house in Windsor. He's got a really nice house with a pool. We met his wife Anisa and there 2 dogs. We had some drinks while the men cooked on the BBQ. We were going to swim but never got round to it. It was really nice and relaxing. Mick said we could stay over so instead of our squashy uncomfy tent we had a nice comfy bed and Damelza had her own en-suite room! Dan pulled out all his party tricks with napkins and tea-towels and got up to his usual tricks with his side kick. We didn't stay up too late as we had to be up early the next morning.
