Blue Mountains

Last night before we went to bed I got an email about the van. I arranged to meet them at 8pm today as I knew we were going out all day.

This morning we woke up at 8am. We made sure the van was tidy for later and got ready to go out. We went to the train station and they tried to sell us a tour as well but we didn't want it. We eventually got the tickets to Katoomba but because they messed us about we just missed the train. So we caught the train at 9.30am straight to central station. We had to sprint across the station as the trains only leave once an hour and just managed to make it. We had a 2 hour journey to the blue mountains.

It was really nice once we could see the mountains. They really were blue! We got off the train and looked at how we could get about. It was too far to walk but we found a $20 hop on hop off tour so we did that. It wasn't great as there was only 1 bus so once we got off somewhere we had to stay for an hour. We headed straight to Echo point to see the 3 sisters. It's just 3 massive rocks that are supposed to be 3 sisters that were turned to stone. We took loads of photos but didn't do any of the walks as we didn't have time.

We jumped back on the bus and travelled most of the way around the loop. We got off at Gordon Falls and decided to walk to Leura falls. We knew roughly where to go but ended up walking for ages not sure that we were going in the right direction! It was a lovely walk though, going up and down steps and rocks. We were on our own for most of it only passing people occasionally. I was worried at one point that we'd never get back but then we found the road so just followed it along. We came out near a bus stop for another tour company so worked out roughly where we were. We just decided to flag the bus down as it came passed. We managed to do it and then saw the bus stop about 100m up the road. We finished the rest of the tour and got off at the train station. We quickly got something to eat from a bakery and bought a badge for my blanket.

We got back on the train at 4.10pm and fell asleep on the journey back. We changed again at Central and got back to North Ryde station at 6.50pm. We got back just after 7pm and went to see Andy and Lisa. We chatted quickly and then went to sort the van out. They texted us to say they were running late so we had a cuppa and then drove down the road. We parked in a different place so it wasn't on the slope so the fridge door wouldn't fall off! I met them at the station and walked them down. They were 2 french guys, Dorian and Maxwell. Pepina was sort of playing today. She was still whistling a bit but everything else ran smoothly. They seemed to really like it but needed time to think about it and get the money together. They wanted to pay some in Euros but we insisted it had to be dollars, even if it took a few days. They didn't want to drive it but left us with a good feeling.

We drove back and went to see Andy and Lisa in their cabin again. We got a text from them saying they would like a mechanical inspection for the whistling. We told them what it was but tomorrow we will let them have an inspection carried out on it.

We decided to order a pizza from Dominoes which is just down the road. Dan ordered and half an hour later went to wait at the gate for them. The driver couldn't find us at all and it turned out he was in Canberra! Dominoes have an automated system but it obviously didn't work. We tried again and it still didn't work. Third time lucky we got through but we're still waiting so who knows if we'll get pizza tonight!
