Brighton beach in winter

Today we decided we'd try the beach again. I woke up at 8.30am and we had breakfast and got ready to go out. I prepared our packed lunch of peanut butter sandwiches and a few snacks. We caught the train just after 10am straight to Brighton beach. As soon as we got off the train though we could feel the strong bitter wind. Even with our jacket hoods up it was still hurting our ears. We walked along the Esplanade and we went onto the sand. There were loads of nice shells and I picked up a couple. It was so cold that we just walked along a bit and then came back via the road. We sat down using a war memorial as a wind shield. The sun was quite warm when we were out of the wind but it didn't stay out too long. We saw a rainbow over the sea followed by big black clouds. We decided to go home as it was so cold and there was nothing to see. We had been hoping to see all the beach huts but we'll have to go back another time to see them. Just as we got to the train platform it started raining really really hard.

We took the train back but couldn't get out the station as we hadn't validated them properly. Bizarrely one ticket worked and the other one didn't! It wasn't too much of a problem though. The rain didn't last long and had stopped by the time we were walking home. We finished off the rest of our lunch and just relaxed for the afternoon.

We are becoming pretty good on the wii although Dan is convinced that the bowling pins are tormenting him as when he goes for his third strike in a row he only gets 9 and the 10th pin wobbles but doesn't fall over!!!

Tomorrow we are hoping the weather forecast of warmer dry weather is correct as we are going to the neighbours set. I can't wait so expect lots of photos tomorrow :-)
