We went to bed fairly late last night after Dan finished watching a film. We looked up some things on the internet and I spoke to my mum. We found out where we were in relation to the marina and decided it was too far to walk. My mum suggested asking in the reception which was the best way to get to town. We switched off the light and it was pitch black, we couldn’t see a thing! We were giggling as Dan took my cover and then moaned when I pulled it back. We switched the light back on and he was laying on his covers. We were laughing about everything.
We woke up at 9.10am. We heard Jackie and Thomas get up earlier but we were too tired to get up then. We had breakfast and walked to the reception and she told us a bus went into town from right outside the complex. We caught the bus and got off near to the ATM so we could get some money out. We walked around a bit to see what was about. We found the tourist information and asked her if she knew anywhere which sold camper vans. She told us to try the backpacker hostels. We found one backpacker hostel notice board with some a camper for sale but when we rung the number it went straight to voice mail. Another guy was there and said he might sell his but it wasn’t what we were looking for.
We went to the post office to post Dan’s post cards and letters. We bought the envelop which was pre-paid so it was easy to do. We walked to the beach. We found a quiet cove where no one else was. We took some photos of the beautiful view. I paddled in the water while Dan looked at the little crabs. We wondered why no one else was on the beach so we went back to the shops. We went in Coles and bought some sun cream and lunch.
We found a nice park to eat our lunch. Dan wanted to sit in the shade but I was too cold. We walked to the marina and Thomas rang to say he was home so we headed back. We caught the bus back again. When we got home Thomas took us to another backpacker place where we saw some notices of campers for sale. We rung some more but again had to leave messages. Thomas drove us around again and showed us Snob Street where the posh live. The phone rang and it was the guy about the camper van. He was french and was leaving tomorrow. We arranged a time to meet as it was in Cairns. Thomas said he could take us tomorrow. The camper sounds too good to be true as it half our budget and has got everything we want. It doesn’t have air conditioning though but we’ll just wind down the window. It’s been registered until next August so we don’t have to worry about it.
We went back to Thomas’s house and we had a drink by the pool. I smoothered Dan in his factor 30 sun cream so he could sit in the sun for a little bit. We both had a swim, only because Dan pushed me in! We were talking to a lady from New Zealand and she said the South Island is the best. We said we’d look into it closer to the time. Thomas went to pick up Jackie and Hannah. We were waiting for Hannah to come swimming but she was busy playing with her friend McKye. We got dry and waited for dinner. We had spaghetti bologniase with garlic bread. Hannah and McKye were entertaining us, they were both on the go all the time!
Now it’s dark and we’re sitting outside drinking. I’ve got tea and Dan’s got beer, as usual. Hannah is supposed to be going to sleep but I don’t think she’ll settle down any time soon!!!!! A few hours have passed since I wrote the main part of the blog. Dan has passed out next to me after drinking a mixture of beer, vodka and whiskey (or something equally as alcoholic!). A couple of Jackie’s friends came over. Tia was drinking as much as the boy but Wai just laughed at them with me and Jackie. Hannah eventually gave in at about 10.30pm.
Thomas and Dan got on brilliantly. They were both drunk and loving each other. Dan was being all soppy. Thomas wants to be best man at our wedding and Dan said he could be but I reminding him that he already has at least 3 mates back home who would be more suitable. I doubt they’ll remember it all in the morning anyway!!!
I’m not going to put as many photos on the blog as I have been doing because it uses up a lot of our internet limit. I will try and put a few on from time to time but be warned it won’t be as many as before.
