The Caves

After writing up what we have done the last two days I forgotten something exciting that we did. On the way to Rockhampton we stopped at the Capricorn caves. They were really amazing. The guide was really enthusiastic and told us loads about them. As we were going into the caves they said about the rock wallabies but couldnt see any. Dan spotted one straight away. We went into the caves and they were interesting. They were limestone caves form millions of years ago. We saw rock coral as they used to be underwater. The caves were named after some of the shapes in them, like the camel. I saw it first. The bit I was looking forward to was the cathedral. It is officially a cathedral and people have weddings there. The acousitics are nearly perfect (2 is perfect and these are 1.9), almost as good as the sydney opera house. I wondered why people would get married there but once they put the music on (Enya) and had candle light it was lovely. Very calming. One man in the tour group was being a joker as the guide told the men to pretend to be a bride. The guide switched off all the lights and blew out the candle so we were in pitch black. It was a weird feeling. I held onto Dan tightly as we couldn't see anything.

When we came out we had a Devonshire cream tea. We come all this way and end up having something so English for lunch. lol.
