Last night we chilled out talking on msn to our families and listening to some music. We could hear Doctor Who music over and over again but just drowned it out with our own music. An hour or so later the Doctor Who noise was still going on. Dan worked out it was a dvd menu from the next door van but we couldn't see anyone in it. Dan said we should cut the power and we worked it which one it was so I pulled it out and plugged it back in. It cut the dvd but instead left the TV blaring out. We thought the guy would either wake up or come back and realise and switch it off....wishful thinking! At 12.30am the TV was still blaring out so I sneaked back out and pulled the power out completely. I didn't want to do it as I thought he had a fridge in his van but we had no choice as it was too noisy. I ran off in a different direction so he wouldn't know it was me!
This morning we got up and didn't do much. We had no plans. Dan made an air compressor for Pepina from a coke bottle, the foot pump for the air bed and some glue. He managed to get it to do what he wanted which might get her started if she decides not to play again. Hopefully we won't need it but it kept him quiet for half an hour and may come in useful at some point. Dan cooked steak and rice with onions and pepper for lunch. It was really yummy.
The weather was really hot again but we stayed in the shade most of the time. Dan came up with a brain wave of using the grren sheets we had to make the curtains. They came with Pepina and are thick camping ones. I worked out how much we'd need and they were big enough. I wanted to go into town straight away to get the rest of the bits for them but I had to wait for it to cool down a little and for Dan to finish his beer. We walked into town which wasn't all that far. We found a cheap shop to get some screws and a lock to repair some bits and then found the sewing shop to get the header tape for the curtains and another shop to get some velcro and cotton. I was really excited about making the curtains.
We got back and Dan did the odd bits which needed fixing and I cut up the sheets. Dan held the ends so I could cut it straight but was worried I was going to cut him! I started with the back curtain but got in a muddle so had done it double the size I needed so I decided to sew them together so it was double thickness. It started off a good idea but after it took an hour to sew one side I soon got bored! I cooked an omlette each for dinner and then started again. I'm sure they will take me ages to do but I have nothing else to do so I may as well do them. I just wish I had a sewing machine to speed it up. I hope Pepina appreciates all this effort I am going to!!! Got to get back to it now.
