This morning I got up at 9am and did some washing. It took ages as I had so much but it had to be done as I had run out of shorts and vest tops. I only had 1 pair of Dan's pants and a t-shirt of his to wash, something I found slightly strange!
Dan booked the free bus to the boat club for 12.15pm so we chilled out and then got dressed up for once. We waited outside for the bus, and waited, and waited, and waited!!! Dan rang up again and they said it was on it's way. Finally at 1pm the bus turned up. It took us to the boat club. We placed a bet on St Kilda at $2.35 to win. Ian backed St Kilda too but Helen fancied Geelong at £1.60. We had a drink outside and waited for the footy to start. We ordered a light snack but the potato wedges Dan had turned out to be enough to fed us all!
We watched the footy and Geelong started well but the Saints came back. The lead kept changing hands. In the 3rd Quarter Ian put a bet on a Geelong player to be the first to score in the 4th quarter. He was really excited as it was good odds...until someone else scored first! It was really really close but in the last few minutes the tv lost signal. It kept flashing back and Geelong had taken the lead. Geelong won so Helen won her money, a whole $3!
We had some pie and chips as it was really cheap and then caught the bus back. We got back to the van to find my underwear had been put all over Pepina! I left my knickers and bras hanging on the wing mirror and they had moved them all over the wind screen wipers and left a note saying not to leave articles of clothing which will give old men heart attacks!!! They also wrote a note on the fridge saying it's Helen's fridge as we always joke it's our fridge and the old couples aren't allowed to use it! So now we're planning our revenge mission involving large plant pots!!!!
