Last night we went into town to see if we could find a nice pub. We found several but surprisingly none were open. We headed back and tried the local right by the campsite and it was open. We had some drinks and played pool as it was free. Dan kept beating me. I came close to beating him once but missed the black and that was my chance gone. We left about 10 as there was no one else in there and it looked like it was shutting.
This morning we didn't get up until 10am. It must've been the new curtains keeping the light out, lol! We didn't do much in the morning. Then came the chess marathon, which I kept losing. We'd played a few games, all of which Dan won, so I said next game the winner makes lunch...surprise surprise I won that one. Dan reckons he let me win so I'd make the bacon sandwich. We played a few more games and then I walked into town while Dan played about on the computer, looking up chess tactics no doubt!
I needed some insect repellent and anti histamines as the sand flies have been eating me alive. Each night I must get 20 to 30 new bites and they have got to the stage where the itching drives me mad which doesn't help and just makes them worse. I spent a fortune on tablets (massive tablets unlike the tiny ones we have in England) and lotion. The lotion is supposed to heal and protect so let's hope it works.
I managed to lose the arm off my sunglasses too which I am not very happy about. I retraced my steps but no luck. I have the screw but no arm. I can still wear them but they are wonky so I'll have to get a new pair when I go to the optician so more expense which I didn't need. I have a spare pair of reaction lenses so I'll just have to get used to those now.
When I got back we played more chess and chequers, I only won 1 game out of about 4. I spoke to my mum and then had a shower and applied my new lotion. It is soothing so let's hope it means it's helping my skin. We're getting ready to go out for a meal tonight and hopefully karakoe in the pub we were in last night.
