the challenge

Last night Dan taught us how to play Texas Holdem Poker. It was good once we understood it. We used matches to bet with. Helen and I were doing the best, with Helen winning the last all in round.

I got up this morning and read my book by the pool. Jeff (Gail's husband who does general work on the site) was cleaning the pool. He swims 84 lengths most days which he said is a kilometre. I'd worked out that a mile was 134 lengths so I told him we were going to attempt it today. He said we had no chance. The others woke up so Dan cooked us breafast of sausages, toast and, yep you've guessed it his new favourite thing, poached eggs.

Helen and Ian went back to the op shop to get another curtain as the one from yesterday was too thin. When they got back the men went out to take Pepina for a drive (I knew it was all just aprt of Dan's plan to get some more beers!) and Helen and I did our swimming. We swam 42 lengths and then had a little rest to stretch our backs after doing all those turns then carried on. We wanted to beat Jeff's 84 so decided to do 85 but then we said we may as well do 86 so we could finish where we started. I convinced Helen that we only had 14 more to get to 100 so both did 100. The men came back and we had lunch. I settled for cheese on toast while Dan had steak and onion sandwich.

Helen fitted her new curtain while I looked at where we are going to once we leave here. We have decided to stay until Saturday now for the bbq but after that we are definitely leaving! The men fitted a new fuel filter for Pepina but it wasn't quite right so they had to go out again. I'm typing up the blog early as I don't have anything else to do.
